“Tormenting the Hen” a caustic satire of city mice in the world of country mice, where well-meaning cosmopolites clash with strange townsfolk in country homes, black-box theaters, backyards, and local pubs. Invited by a dippy, curator (Josephine Decker), playwright Claire (Dameka Hayes) is spirited away to an artists’ retreat to present a political one-act about race, resentment, and masculinity. Accompanied by her fiancé, Monica (Carolina Monnerat), begins as a welcome getaway for the harried pair, until an unexpected visit from town enigma Mutty (Matt Shaw) casts a threatening shadow. While Claire plays babysitter to a duo of difficult performers Joel (Brian H. Brooks) and Adam (David Malinsky) Monica attempts to maintain her sanity despite her lover’s decreasing attentions and her neighbor’s proximity. Each woman struggles to preserve her autonomy in an increasingly hostile milieu, building to a soul-shaking climax that offers no easy answers for character and viewer alike.
David Blair directs this powerful British Drama, loosely inspired by John Steinbeck’s novel ‘Of Mice and Men’. Set in Nottingham, the film revolves around the relationship between the thuggish Danny (Stephen Graham) and Joseph (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), a giant of a man with a mental age of seven. When Danny finds himself in debt to a local crime boss, he feels he is left with no choice but to manipulate Joseph into participating in a series of underground cage fights from which Danny can pay his debts.
Rising executive Tim Wagner works for a boss who hosts a monthly dinner in which the guest who brings the biggest buffoon gets a career-boost. Tim plans on not attending until he meets Barry, a man who builds dioramas using stuffed mice. Barry’s blundering but good intentions send Tim’s life into a downward spiral, threatening a major business deal and possibly scuttling Tim’s engagement to his fiancee.
A magical adventure begins Once upon a time, within a vast and wild forest there was a fantastic Kingdom called Rodencia, a place where wonderful creatures and powerful wizards lived. It’s the story of adventures and love of a small mouse called Edam, a clumsy magician’s apprentice and the beautiful and confident mouse Brie, who will have to face many dangerous obstacles in order to obtain the power of the princess’s tooth and defeat the troop of rats commanded by the evil Rotex who invades Rodencia (the peaceful kingdom of mice), in order to dominate them and take their treasure. In the middle of the forest; the magic of the light and the darkness, the love and resentment will face together. Edam and Rotex will fight and only one will leave victorious.
